Nestled in the heart of the Perthshire countryside at Denhead Farm, Ice & Embers is a place to slow down, reconnect and reset.
Surrounded by rolling farmland, open skies and beautiful views across the River Isla, our wood-fired sauna offers an escape from the pace and pressures of modern life. Here, nature sets the rhythm. The crackle of the fire, the fresh country air and the changing seasons create a space where you can truly switch off.
Inspired by Nordic wellness traditions, we combine the deep warmth of a traditional wood-fired sauna with the invigorating benefits of cold-water immersion. Whether you’re seeking recovery, relaxation, clarity or simply a moment of stillness, Ice & Embers provides a space to reconnect with both yourself and the natural world around you.
More than just a sauna, we are building a community. A place where people can gather, share experiences, embrace the elements and enjoy the simple pleasures of heat, cold and meaningful connection.
Whether you join us for a community session or a private escape, we invite you to leave the outside world behind, breathe deeply and experience the restorative power of nature.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
Slow Down. Be Present. Reset.
The combination of heat and cold helps calm the mind, release tension and encourage deep relaxation.
Many people report improved sleep quality after sauna sessions thanks to the body’s natural cooling and recovery process.
Regular sauna use can increase circulation and gently challenge the cardiovascular system in a similar way to light exercise.
Heat helps relax muscles and joints, while cold water immersion may help reduce post-exercise soreness.
Taking time away from daily distractions can help improve mood, mental clarity and overall wellbeing.
The contrast of heat and cold naturally draws attention to the present moment, helping you reconnect with yourself and nature.
Many guests leave feeling refreshed, invigorated and recharged after a hot-cold contrast session.
Alternating between heat and cold encourages blood vessels to expand and contract, supporting healthy circulation.
Shared sauna experiences create opportunities to slow down, connect and enjoy meaningful conversations with others.
Surrounded by the Perthshire countryside, our sauna offers a chance to step away from screens, breathe deeply and immerse yourself in the natural world.
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your session to allow time for parking and walking to our off-grid sauna location.
There is a short walk from the car park through the top field to the sauna and cold plunge area. We recommend arriving ready in your swimwear and/or dry robe, as we do not currently have changing facilities on site.
Unfortunately, if you arrive late, we are unlikely to be able to extend your session, so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time and ready to enjoy your experience.
Please bring:
Please note that we do not have showers or running water on site.
For your safety, please do not take glass bottles or metal water bottles into the sauna.
We provide a sheltered area for personal belongings and hooks for towels. Please keep belongings to a minimum and avoid bringing valuables, as all items are left at your own risk.
Our standard sessions last 55 minutes.
We recommend limiting sauna exposure to a maximum of 20 minutes at a time. If sauna bathing is new to you, start with shorter sessions of 3–5 minutes and gradually increase the duration as you become more comfortable.
Take regular breaks to cool down, spend time in the fresh air, use the cold plunges, or cool off using the buckets provided.
Please use the watering cans to rinse off before entering the cold plunges.
Most importantly, listen to your body and participate at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
This depends on the type of session you book.
